We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to take ownership of all aspects of mission system development and lead our engineering team from concept to production. What you'll do: - Define and execute the vision of our next generation mission systems from concept through production
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class mission systems engineering team
- Integrate off-the-shelf hardware and drive the roadmap for future vertical integration
- Establish and enforce appropriate design processes
- Maintain technical excellence—implement rigorous design processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure system performance meets requirements and design expectations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Shield’s core teams, such as engineering, production, supply chain, business development, and program management
- Engage with external partners – coordinate with vendors and engineering teams as needed
- Work in a fast-paced environment
Required qualifications:- 10+ years of experience as an Mission Systems Engineer or a related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Strong technical fundamentals
- Experience with custom electronics design and system level integration
- Have worked on large platforms, such as aircraft, rockets, satellites, automotive, etc.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
