DevOps/SysOps Automation Engineer

Job Description

Precision Resources, a division of the Trimarc Group Inc., is currently searching for an experienced DevOps/SysOps Automation Engineer to join a client in Birmingham, Alabama. This is a contract role that will provide PTO and assistance towards Healthcare benefits – plus the opportunity to convert into a permanent employee with our client. 

As this opportunity provides an opportunity to become a permanent role, we will only consider candidates that are US Citizens or those that possess a Green Card. We will not be entering into a C2C agreement with any third parties. 

The ideal candidate for this DevOps/SysOps Automation Engineer role will have a proven track record of providing reliable operation, performance and availability of assigned server, storage and application environments. 

Overview:

This DevOps/SysOps Automation Engineer will focus on improving system reliability and operational efficiency by designing, maintaining and supporting automation across monitoring, infrastructure and application platforms.

The chosen individual will reduce manual effort through Ansible-driven workflows, enhance observability and alerting, support incident response and platform upgrades and collaborate closely with application, security and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, compliant and repeatable solutions that strengthen overall service stability and performance. 

Daily:

This role manages day‑to‑day operational workload and project work, ensuring systems are properly configured, patched, documented and supported to meet business needs. 

The position interacts regularly with technical teams, business partners, end users and management while following organizational policies and procedures. 

Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis, capacity planning, performance tuning, audit and disaster recovery participation and maintaining accurate technical documentation. 

Technical REQUIREMENTS:

• Kubernetes/Containerization experience
• Monitoring tool experience
• Splunk
• REST API
• Scripting language experience (for example: Python, PowerShell, or Ansible)
• Git
• AI experience
