Description

The Test Automation Engineer / Test Architect is a hands-on quality leader embedded in a product squad and attached to the Quality Chapter. They build and lead front-end, end-to-end and load test automation, ensuring industrial-grade quality and seamless integration of tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
They design the testing framework, define standards, and enable developers and Quality Engineers to efficiently write, maintain and own automated tests β€” acting as an enabler rather than doing everything alone.
Responsibilities
1. Test Strategy & Framework Design
  • Design and implement a front-end, end-to-end and load testing framework.
  • Define and maintain testing standards, guidelines and best practices.
2. Automation & CI/CD Design/Build/Integration
  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, including standardised reporting and dashboards.
  • Monitor coverage, stability and performance of automated tests; drive continuous improvement of the framework and suites.
3. Enablement & Collaboration
  • Coach and support developers and Quality Engineers so they can efficiently write and maintain automated tests.
  • Contribute directly to automation work without becoming a bottleneck; focus on enablement.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Chapter to align with group-wide Quality Engineering strategy and tooling.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Software Development & Architecture is a must.
  • Strong experience in test automation architecture for front-end and end-to-end testing.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern test frameworks and tools (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, API testing tools) is a must.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with web applications and distributed systems; comfortable working closely with developers.
  • Ability to standardise, document and evangelise Quality Engineers practices across a squad or multiple squads.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills; able to act as referent/expert for test automation while keeping an enabling, non-bottleneck posture.
  • Good understanding about performance/load tools is a nice to have.
  • English is mandatory, french nice to have.
Performance Indicators
  • Test automation coverage and stability (especially front-end and end-to-end).
  • Reliability and speed of CI/CD pipeline gates driven by automated tests, by building it , maintaining it, and scale it.
  • Reduction of production incidents linked to functional or regression gaps over time.
  • Clarity and adoption of testing standards, dashboards and reports by squads and stakeholders.
  • Level of developer and squad participation in test automation.
  • Continuous improvement of the test framework (e.g. reduced flakiness, faster execution, broader coverage).
