SOAR Engineer/Developer - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a SOAR Engineer/Developer - Onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Washington, DC, or Jersey City, NJ. This is a contract opportunity.

The SOAR Engineer/Developer for Integration Development is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reusable integrations that connect security platforms, enterprise applications, and operational tools within a Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) ecosystem. This role focuses on developing scalable API-based solutions to support SOAR migration initiatives, reduce manual effort, and accelerate security operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with REST APIs, Python development, and a working knowledge of Splunk SOAR, with the ability to create reusable integration frameworks that support ongoing platform migrations and automation efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain reusable API integrations between security and enterprise platforms
• Create integration components that support SOAR migration projects and address migration-related functionality gaps (migration deltas)
• Develop Python-based connectors, automation services, and integration workflows
• Build and consume REST APIs to facilitate secure data exchange across systems
• Collaborate with SOAR engineers, security operations teams, and application owners to identify integration requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration, API, and automation issues
• Support the development and maintenance of Splunk SOAR playbooks and related automation workflows
• Develop integration standards and reusable code libraries to improve scalability and consistency
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and operational procedures
• Participate in solution design reviews, testing efforts, and production deployments
• Ensure integrations meet security, compliance, and performance requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, software development, systems integration, or SOAR engineering
• Experience designing and developing REST API integrations
• Strong Python programming and scripting skills
• Working knowledge of Splunk SOAR and security automation concepts
• Experience troubleshooting API communications, authentication, and integration issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills:

• Experience supporting SOAR platform migrations
• Experience integrating security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IAM, vulnerability management, or ticketing platforms
• Knowledge of JSON, webhooks, OAuth2, and modern integration architectures
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with source control platforms such as Git
• Security industry certifications or Splunk-related certifications
• REST APIs, Python, Splunk SOAR, API Development, System Integration, Security Automation

Pay range: $70.25 - $78.25 per hour
