3D Animator (Mid-level/Senior) - Freelance

About the Position

We are looking for a freelance 3D Animator (Mid-level/Senior) to join our advertising, game, and entertainment projects.

You will be responsible for bringing characters, creatures, and objects to life through high-quality animation, applying solid animation fundamentals, artistic sensibility, and attention to detail. We are seeking someone who can balance technical quality, creativity, and adherence to deadlines while collaborating closely with various areas of the production pipeline.

This is a temporary project lasting approximately 6 to 7 weeks (nearly 2 months), with a scheduled start date of July 13th.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality 3D animations following the project's visual style and creative direction;
• Apply classic animation principles, ensuring weight, timing, spacing, body mechanics, acting, and lip-sync when necessary; 
• Collaborate with Direction, Production, Supervision, and other departments to ensure deliverables align with the briefing; 
• Follow the pipeline and processes established by the team; 
• Organize your tasks and meet deadlines consistently; 
• Participate in reviews, incorporating feedback constructively; 
• Maintain clear communication regarding the progress of deliverables, risks, and needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a 3D Animator on cinematic projects;
• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya;
• Knowledge of body mechanics, acting, timing, weight, spacing, and lip-sync (where applicable);
• Mastery of the 12 fundamental principles of animation;
• Ability to interpret briefs and translate references into high-quality animations;
• Organizational skills and the autonomy to work remotely and manage priorities.

Key differentiators

• Proficiency in Blender;
• Knowledge of cinematography, composition, and storytelling applied to animation;
• Familiarity with different animation styles (realistic, stylized, and cartoon).
