In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced verification and design engineers to develop, execute, and debug verification environments, ensuring functional correctness, performance, and reliability of complex hardware components. This internship offers hands-on exposure to industry-standard verification methodologies, tools, and workflows, providing an excellent opportunity to strengthen your technical skills while contributing to real-world silicon development projects.

In this position, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Help develop automation in execution and debugging by using your SW skills for programming and scripting.
  • Assists engineering in assessing process health and defect identification during the verification phase.
  • Conduct engineering and detailed experimental testing to collect data or assist in research.
  • Perform operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
  • Working with Hardware validation engineers and Designers in lab activities.
  • Reviewing the procedures and methodologies for the areas listed previously to improve efficiency and find better tools and innovative validation strategies. This candidate will lead an improvement project to enhance our documentation.
  • Run test cases according to a defined test plan, reporting results to engineering teams.
  • Assist engineers in further debugging failing devices to help find underlying Silicon or product bugs and set up and run particular experiments.
  • Collaborate with other validation areas of Design, BIOS, System validation, and other different teams to support development and data collection and debug and/or analysis and/or documentation and/or reporting
  • Apply analog and digital electronic knowledge to debug technical problems related to board design.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative to complete assigned tasks while quickly reporting results and challenges to customers.
  • Work on multiple assigned tasks and projects and appropriately manage priorities.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal customers.

As an Intern Hardware Verification Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of hardware verification methodologies, including functional verification concepts and coverage-driven verification.
  • How to develop, execute, and debug testbenches to validate hardware designs at the IP, subsystem, or SoC level.
  • Techniques for analyzing simulation results, identifying functional issues, and collaborating with design engineers to debug and resolve defects.
  • Use of industry-standard EDA tools for simulation, waveform analysis, regression execution, and results tracking.
  • Understanding of digital design concepts, including clocking, reset strategies, interfaces, protocols, and basic micro-architecture.
  • Best practices for documentation, version control, and collaborative development in a professional engineering environment.
  • Insight into the full silicon development lifecycle, from design and verification through tape-out and validation.
  • Development of problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills while working in cross-functional engineering teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
