Spar Specialist II (Pt)

Job Summary: The Sports, Parks, Arts, and Recreation (SPAR) Specialist II is to assist with all services and activities of the Marketing and Community department. This includes services and activities provided at the recreation center and senior center. Monitoring and delivering adult and youth programs are also essential to this role and includes ensuring that sport facilities are appropriately managed. 

Minimum Job Requirements: 

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. A valid driver’s license. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide exceptional customer service and perform clerical duties such as serving as a receptionist.
• Assist citizens with activities at assigned City facilities, parks and community centers to include preparing facilities and providing additional information on reservations of parks and city facilities as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 
• Assist with all parks, community centers and city recreational and sports facilities services and activities including reservations, customer services, coordinating activities, preparation and closing of facilities, etc. 
• May serve as a liaison with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Knowledge of:

• Excellent verbal and written communication to engage with all stakeholders. 
• Planning work, time, and resources.
• Mulit-tasking in an environment with multiple interruptions. 
• Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment with low to moderate noise level. May work in outside settings.   Subject to sitting for an extended period of time, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting and putting away such items as records and office supplies of moderate weight of up to 75 pounds.  Working with a wide variety of people, experiencing different levels of emotions
