Duties And Responsibilities
o Maintain an inventory log for all hardware and usage records. o Clean, sanitize, charge, and organize VR hardware. o Create and maintain a publicly accessible lab schedule. Coordinate with faculty to accommodate class reservations. Ensure sufficient time between reservations for headset charging. o Troubleshoot technical issues with lab equipment and software. o Act as a liaison with IT to submit help requests related to lab operations and implement solutions. o Install updates to hardware and software as needed. o Provide technical and instructional assistance to faculty who teach courses in the lab. o Provide technical assistance to students using the lab. o Create usage guides (in collaboration with Dacus librarians). o Train undergraduate lab monitors (once the lab is fully operational). o Supervise lab use during common time (once the lab is fully operational). o Offer introductory/exploratory workshops to students (once the lab is fully operational). o Promote the lab on social media and manage the lab’s social media accounts (once the lab is fully operational). o Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of the VR Lab or supervisor. o Serve as a monitor in other CVPA labs as needed.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include strong technical skills, experience with VR/AR/XR or other immersive visualization technologies, the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines, attention to detail, and the capacity to complete routine tasks independently.
